Geekos and openSUSE @ FOSDEM 2025

FOSDEM 2025, the Free and Open Source Software Developers' European Meeting, took place on February 1st and 2nd at the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Brussels, Belgium.

This annual, volunteer-organized event is renowned for fostering collaboration among free and open-source software developers worldwide. The 2025 edition featured an extensive program with 1,118 speakers delivering 1,074 events across 78 tracks, including keynotes, developer rooms, lightning talks, and Birds of a Feather sessions. Notably, the conference continued its FOSDEM Fringe and FOSDEM Junior initiatives, offering workshops tailored for young enthusiasts aged 7 to 17. The event also addressed contemporary topics, with discussions on the ethical implications of cryptocurrency in open-source communities. FOSDEM remains a cornerstone event for those passionate about the advancement and collaboration of free and open-source software.

Of course, openSUSE and the Geeko Foundation were there! At a packed booth in building K, subject matter experts provided insight, advice and support to future, new and current users.
